We’ve spent a lot of time over the last 12 months talking about our Cycle Hub in the City Centre we thought we might just give you an update on what’s happening in our Neepsend Shop and around the area.
Our shop has been very busy getting bikes refurbished to sell this year, the secondhand bike market is still a little weird with loads of bikes out there for sale but more people are realising the benefit of bicycle over car. We are still upgrading and smartening up bikes and we’ve got a stack in the shop right now. Take a look:
We are working on installing a bicycle wash area to the outside of the shop, it’s one of the biggest maintenance items you can do yourself and will be available to use when our shop is open, there’ll be a small charge for using it along with brushes and sponges and if you want cleaning products we will be able to supply you with those too.
In the wider area Merchants Court is starting to get busy. I visited Pad 12 wine bar last Sunday and had a great chat to the owner about what was happening down there with a new bar opening soon in the courtyard I think it will be a new pre-peddler destination along with chilled social times at the weekend and in the evening. It’s tucked away in an old industrial courtyard just like our Neepsend shop so the map below will help you find it.
For the street art boffs in the audience there is some new graffiti just the otherside of the railway tracks in Pitsmoor that may interest you, it’s on a section of road that is now closed to traffic but in my opinion the road could be developed as a great cycle route or developed as part of a traffic calming gyratory in the area providing good quality cycle and walking routes connecting Neepsend, Kelham Island and the City to the largely overlooked North.
Don’t forget that Peddler Street Food Market is still going strong with nearly 100 additions, it’s always popular and busy and this week sees it return for the first Friday and Saturday of the month.
